Joseph “Joey” Hamlin is a globally recognized leader in manufacturing, bringing more than three decades of expertise in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, safety, and operations within the specialty chemicals industry. With a career defined by operational excellence, global experience, and a commitment to innovation, Joey has led complex, multi-site, and multi-national production facilities through startup, transition, and rapid-growth phases.
Joey spent two decades at Albemarle Corporation, where he held multiple leadership roles in manufacturing and supply chain, both domestically and internationally, driving improvements in productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. He later served as Global Operations Director in the specialty chemicals sector and subsequently as Chief Operating Officer for Synsus, overseeing operations in the fertilizer industry.
His expertise spans full P&L and CAPEX responsibility in both union and non-union environments, with oversight of continuous and batch operations. Joey has a proven track record in building organizational infrastructure, implementing lean plant enhancements, managing raw material utilization, expanding production capacity, and eliminating key process bottlenecks—all while maintaining exemplary safety, cost control, and environmental compliance standards.
Joey’s career covers an exceptionally diverse range of industries, including polymer catalysts, organometallics, fine chemicals, brominated flame retardants, food-grade additives, antioxidants, aluminum alkyls, wood additives, mining chemicals, oil and gas drilling fluids, fertilizer intermediates, and olefin molecules.
At ALiBrX, he applies his deep technical and operational expertise to ensure world-class manufacturing performance, operational scalability, and supply chain resilience for the company’s next-generation bromine and lithium extraction technologies.
A Chemical Engineer by training, Joey enjoys time with his family, hunting, fishing, and following college sports—especially LSU athletics.
