VP Strategy, Commercial Value Chains

Mike Robertson brings more than 30 years of global energy leadership spanning upstream, midstream, downstream, and LNG value chains. At ALiBrX, Mike leads commercial optimization for ALiBrX’s value chains across lithium, bromine, iodine, and future minerals — with a focus on commercially enabling scalable, capital-efficient brine manufacturing systems and associated product to market optimization. He plays a key role in identifying commercial value chain opportunities, structuring brine processing partnerships, evaluating tolling and logistics models, and guiding deployment optimization at every stage of the value chain.

Mike spent over two decades at Chevron, where he most recently served as Principal Commercial Advisor in Chevron’s Supply & Trading organization. There, he led multi-hundred-million-dollar infrastructure negotiations, including multi-year pipeline, dock, and terminal agreements supporting upstream, trading, and refining flows across North America, Asia, and the Gulf Coast. He also played a lead role in Chevron’s cross-commodity strategy in the Permian Basin, evaluating integrated crude, gas, and NGL systems to enhance commercial value. His earlier work at Chevron Global Gas and Chevron Upstream included complex farm-outs, PSCs, gas sales negotiations, and strategic assignments in the Middle East, Russia, West Africa, and Europe.

Prior to joining Chevron, Mike held commercial and business development roles at Marathon Oil, Valero, and Arthur D. Little, supporting LNG infrastructure, M&A, and downstream optimization initiatives. He began his career as a mechanical engineer with M.W. Kellogg, working on major refining and petrochemical projects in Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.

Mike holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Rice University. He has completed international assignments in Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Portugal, South Korea, and the U.K., and brings a rare ability to bridge technical, commercial, and geopolitical complexity to drive transformational outcomes. Outside of work, Mike enjoys traveling and seeing live music with his wife and hiking with their dogs.
